Chuseok is just over a month away so take advantage of the extended vacation, and travel to the beautiful island of Namhae, and explore the stunning Green Tea Fields at Boseong.

Situated on the south coast, Namhae, referred to as Treasure Island, is home to some of the most stunning scenery in Korea. This beautiful island has amazing crystal clear blue water, white sandy beaches and pine covered mountains. Still largely unspoiled, you can see traditional rice terraces scattered throughout the island. The beaches are among the prettiest in Korea, and are far less busy and commercialized than some of the others.

Enjoy Korea’s trip offers you the best of Namhae Island. Day 1 will start at Daerangi Village which feels like you’ve been time warped into the past with it’s walk through the rice terraces down to the sea. We’ll then make the drive to the beautiful Sangju beach, you have the option of staying in a Pension (guesthouse) 1 minute from the beach, or for those wanting to keep it al fresco you can camp alongside the beach. Spend the evening chilling on the beach or explore the island some more.

Day 2: Starts with a stunning sunrise at the mountain top temple Geumsan Boriam for an amazing spiritual experience, if you’d rather have a long lie, that’s cool too. You’ve then got all day on the beach to soak up the rays or rent a paddle board. You can also go and explore some of the nearby beaches. In the evening we’ll make the short journey to Namhae’s German Village. Nestled in the countryside, the quaint village inspired by German architecture has some great options for dinner and drinks. When we get back you can spend the rest of your evening chilling on the beach with a few drinks, making new friends.

Day 3: After check-out on Tuesday morning we’ll travel to the Boseong Green Tea Fields. Korea has a long history of planting tea and the green fields of Boseong are among it’s most famous. The plantations have been used as backdrops for many movies and TV shows and provide a beautiful setting for a chilled day out. Stroll among the tea terraces, which are some of Korea’s most beautiful natural vistas. There are approximately 20 tea fields in the Boseong area, views of the entire plantation can be seen from the Dahyanggak Pavilion. And of course, don’t forget to taste some of the tea in one of the local tea shops, or sample the green tea ice-cream. In addition to the tea fields there’s also a stunning Bamboo forest to explore which makes for some amazing photos.
