Namhae Island & Boseong Green Tea Fields Weekender 2018Summer
Summer is right around the corner so take advantage of the lovely sunny weather, and travel to the beautiful island of Namhae, and explore the stunning Green Tea Fields at Boseong.
Situated on the south coast, Namhae often referred to as Treasure Island, is home to some of the most stunning scenery in Korea. This small yet beautiful island has amazing crystal clear blue water, white sandy beaches and pine covered mountains. Still largely unspoiled, you can see traditional rice terraces scattered throughout the island. The beaches are among the prettiest in Korea, and are far less busy and commercialized than some of the others.
Enjoy Korea’s excursion offers you the best of Namhae Island. We’ll be staying at the beautiful Sangju beach, visiting Daerangi Village which feels like you’ve been time warped into the past with it’s walk through the rice terraces down to the sea. Another one of Namhae’ fabulous sites, is the mountain top temple Geumsan Boriam, we’ll visit during sunrise for an amazing spiritual experience.
We offer you the option of a pension with balcony 30 seconds from the beach, or for those wanting to keep it al fresco you can camp alongside the beach. Spend your evening with a few drinks on the beach, making new friends and getting involved with the obligatory fireworks for sale all along the beach.
After check-out on Sunday morning we’ll travel to the Boseong Green Tea Fields Festival. Korea has a long history of planting tea and the green fields of Boseong are among it’s most famous. The plantations have been used as backdrops for many movies and TV shows and provide a beautiful setting for a Saturday day out.
Spend the day strolling along the tree lined landscape, which is considered by some to be one of Korea’s most beautiful tree-lined vistas. There are approximately 20 tea fields in the Boseong area, views of the entire plantation can be seen from the Dahyanggak Pavilion. And of course, don’t forget to taste some of the tea in one of the local tea shops, or sample the green tea ice-cream.
